الأخ الحبيب بالرب نور،
الأحباء في إدارة تلفزيون النور
بفرح كبير تلقينا نبأ زيارة قداسة بابا الفاتيكان رأس الكنيسة الكاثوليكية خليفة القدّيس بطرس الرسول، وكما سبق وقلنا لسلفه فإننا بكوننا وريث كلّ من القدّيسين بطرس وبولس نرحب به على تراب بطريركيتنا المحفوظة من الله أنطاكية، حيث دعي المسيحيون فيها أولاً وصدّرت الإيمان المسيحي للعالم أجمع.
إننا وفي هذا الوقت تحديدًا نقدّر لقداسته هذه الزيارة الكريمة للبنان العزيز جدًا على قلوبنا، فعلى الرغم من كلّ ما يسمع قداسته عن الأوضاع السياسية الساخنة في الشرق الأوسط إلا أنه أكّد زيارته إلى بلادنا الحبيبة لكي يشدّد من عزيمة المسيحيين في شرقنا الأوسطي، وليعلن للعالم أجمع أهمية هذه المنطقة وأهمية الوجود المسيحي فيها، هذا الوجود الذي يكمّل هذا الموزاييك الرائع الذي اختارته الديانات السماوية كي يكون موطئً لها ولكي يكون المكان المناسب لانتشارها وامتدادها.
لهذه الزيارة يا صاحب القداسة معنىً خاص بالنسبة لنا، فنحن نرجو من خلالها أن تصل كلمتنا للعالم أجمع وخصوصًا العالم الرربي الذي تأتون منه، فكما سروون يا صاحب القداسة فشعبنا هنا يستأهل العي الرغيد والكريم الذي نصليّ دائمًا من أجله في كل مناسبة وفرصة.
السلام يا صاحب القداسة لا يتحقق إلا عندما يعمّ بالعالم أجمع وهذا دورنا كرؤساء للكنائس أن نرفع الصوت عاليًا وفي كل المحافل العالمية التي نتواجد بها كي يتحقق هذا بين الناس، إننا وكما نقرأ في الكتاب المقدّس حيث أن الله خلق الإنسان على صورته ومثاله، لذلك نطلب من الجميع أن ينظروا لأخوتهم بأنهم صورة الله ومثاله وأن يتمنوا لهم ما يتمنوه لأنفسهم.
أخيرًا أتمنى لقداستكم طيب الإقامة في ربوع لبنان الحبيب وأن تحقق زيارتكم مبتراها الروحي والزمني.

We received with great jubilation the news of His Holiness the Pope of the Vatican's visit to Lebanon. We, being the successor of Saints Peter and Paul, welcome His Holiness the Primate of the Catholic Church, who is the successor of Saint Peter. As we said to His Holiness's predecessor, we welcome Him in the land of our God-protected Patriarchate of Antioch, the place where the disciples were first called Christians and the base out of which the Christian faith spread in the entire world.
In this special time, we appreciate His Holiness's visit to our most beloved Lebanon. Even though there exists a great political tension in the Middle East, His Holiness has confirmed His coming to our country in order to fortify the Christians in the Middle East. Through His Holiness's visit, the whole world would see the importance of this region, which is the cradle of faiths, and the vitality of the Christian presence in it. Thus, Christianity in this place makes up along with the other faiths a unique and exceptional mosaic.
Your Holiness, this visit has a special value, since we hope that through it our voice is well heard, especially in the Western world. As you shall see, our people deserve to live a peaceful and prosperous life, as we always pray.
Your Holiness: peace is fulfilled when it reigns in the whole world. It is our foremost role, as the Churches' Primates, to call for peace through the podiums of all the international assemblies. We read in the Holy Scriptures that God created human beings in His image and likeness. Thus, we call upon all humans to look at their brothers and sisters in humanity as being in God's image and likeness, wishing for them what they wish for themselves.
Finally, we pray that the stay of Your Holiness in Lebanon be pleasant, hoping as well that the spiritual and temporal purposes of your visit be fulfilled.
